You’ve probably seen this played out saying on a T-shirt or posted on social media, but is there something deeper than just a cheesy saying?
Have you ever met someone for the first time and, all of a sudden, you started feeling uneasy in their presence?
There might not have been a logical reason for you to feel that way, the person may have even appeared to be charming, kind, and well-behaved, but maybe too kind?
Maybe you couldn’t put your finger on it, you just had a strange ‘vibe’?
Or, maybe you met someone for the first time and felt more comfortable with them than even your closest friends.
What’s behind these “vibes” that seem to root deeper than logic can explain.
According to experts, between 70% and 90% of all communication is, non-verbal.
This means, that your “vibes” literally do more to communicate with others more than your words do.
Let’s take a deep look into why “Vibes” speak louder than words
What Exactly Are ‘Vibes’ ?
Vibe is short for vibration, but do our bodies actually give off vibrations?
Of course they do.
According to Albert Einstein and researchers at the University of São Paulo, we are made up of literally nothing more than vibrating energy.
Humans are made of cells, which are made of atoms, which are made of particles, and those so-called particles are actually just vibrating energy.
As published in Scientific American, scientists now understand that we can pick up on this vibrational energy sub-consciously.
Our physical bodies naturally reflect inner feelings through sub-conscious behaviors.
having said this, others can also sub-consciously pick up on our sub-conscious “vibes”.
To break it down simply, vibes are the feeling you get from your sub-conscious reading another person’s sub-conscious.
We might try to hide our feeling (some of us are better at this than others), but ultimately our ‘inner mood’ is reflected by our ‘outer actions’ whether we’re aware of it or not.
This is what a vibe is.
Are You Aware Of Your Vibes?
Sometimes (even often) our inner feelings are so deep that we are not even aware of how they are affecting our vibe.
This is easier for other to pick up on, but difficult to detect on your own.
Our internal emotions are communicated outward sub-consciously through our facial expressions, body language, tone of voice, eye movements, and other non-verbal communication.
All of these no-verbal movements communicate to others our general “vibe”
Whether we’re aware of it or not.
Our thoughts and emotions radiate energy at different vibrational frequencies. it’s important to be aware of the energy or “vibe” you are outputting.
We receive or catch the frequencies that other people transmit and with-out knowing it we could be absorbing other peoples negativity (or positivity)
These frequencies may be a result of body language, posture, appearance, ect.
Our sub-conscious brains pick up on these non-verbal frequencies which gives us a “gut feeling” of other people’s vibes.
Be careful not to absorb other peoples negativity and then go home and kick the dog.
Do Vibes Speak Louder Than Words?
If you think about it, vibes are the purest form of communication there is.
You can consciously hide how you feel, but your conscious can’t lie.
Your general “vibe” stems from your thoughts, emotions, feelings, and intentions. What you think, feel, and intend is what you transmit out into the universe.
When a negative thought arises in your mind, you can “say” something else using words and pretend to be positive, but the vibes of that negative thought cannot be changed.
For example, when your significant other or life partner says they are “fine”, when their vibe is clearly upset.
A person who is sensitive enough can easily catch on to the actual deeper feelings behind your mind at that very moment.
So, when you come across someone and suddenly feel uneasy or insecure, it could very well be that your body is receiving some really bad vibes off of them.
But physically, you may not notice a single negative thing about them.
But the deeper consciousness inside you receives and interprets their vibes perfectly.
Even before your mind catches on, your internal receiver has already caught the vibe.
Therefore, it’s safe to say that vibes do speak louder than words.
4 Easy Tricks To Raise Your Vibrations
Knowing the role that vibrations play in our lives and the people around us, why not take steps to consciously raise our vibrations ?
1) Prevent Energy Leaks (keep your Internal battery charged)
I usually start the day with a full cup of coffee and my energy feeling refreshed. But by the end of the day, I’m usually feeling pretty drained and probably not giving off the best vibes to those around me.
How do I keep my natural energy tank “full” for longer ?
Prevent energy leaks.
We use up our energy throughout the day naturally by working, thinking and doing.
But where do we waste the most energy ?
Worries, fears, concerns, bad habits, passing blame, missing out on the bigger picture, and not taking responsibility are the prime reasons people lose their energy unnecessarily.
Basically anxiety causes energy loss.
Take time to yourself to find the root cause of your anxiety and then take time to come up with a plan of action.
As you attack your “anxiety list” your natural energy will increase, your vibe will raise, and you’ll feel better about yourself.
Slowly but surely, you will start feeling a deeper reservoir of energy inside you. This simple shift is enough to enhance the intensity of your vibrations and people around you will take notice.
2) Clean House Clean Mind
We all get stuck in certain ways of doing things. A dirty house, dirty car, or cluttered work space become normal.
But maybe sub-consciously, our cluttered environment is a reflection of our minds and our internal energy.
This is exactly the findings published in Psychology Today.
Becoming stale and living cluttered naturally leads to much lower vibes.
If your environment has become cluttered and your natural energy levels have become stale, you can dedicate time to clean to revitalize your vibe.
Start by cleaning and organizing you space and you’ll feel the anxiety leaving and life rushing back into you.
You may even feel inspired by your new vibe.
Pro Tip:
Once cleaned you can try the ancient technique of “smudging“.
This is an ancient ritual that involves burning sage or other herbal material and using the aroma similar to aroma therapy to trigger a change in your mindset.
I personally thought this was a phony technique, until i gave it a shot. After re-organizing my office and burning sage, I pulled myself out of a 2 year slump and re-energized my work environment and work ethic.
The end result is that you feel much more happy, peaceful, and in a state of balance.
3) Widen Your Perspective And Kill Your Ego To Raise Your Vibe
Our ego’s can be good in some ways, and have driven us to achieve great things. but our ego’s can also block us from seeing reality clearly.
Ego’s can make us arrogant, unaware, and blind to certain truths if we let our ego’s get the best of us.
If we don’t recognize our ego and it’s blind spots it will absolutely lower our vibe that we pass onto other around us.
But it we’re open minded and widen our perspective to see all points of view, our ego’s curiosity can boost our confidence and drive us towards success.
being aware of our ego’s and other peoples ego’s can raise our vibes and conscious self awareness.
4) Meditate
Last but certainly not least, is meditation.
Meditation is often seen as a one-stop-shop to gain control over every aspect of your being.
People have been meditating for thousands of years and have seen immense benefits (many of which benefits came before medical science came into existence).
Naturally, it is one of the most effective methods to raise your vibrations. There are several types of meditation that you can do for this purpose.
Meditation is another concept that I personally had a hard time accepting. I though meditation was only for skinny people sitting on top of a mountain somewhere.
But I gave it an open minded chance, and now I meditate multiple times a week (only for 15 minutes or so) and It’s worked wonders in organizing my mind, calming my daily anxiety, boosting my confidence as a person, and raising my overall vibe.
You could do third-eye meditation that could really supercharge your natural energy. Or you could focus on breath work that would not only cleanse your energy but also enhance it.
You could also choose to activate your chakras which would take you to a whole another level as far as raising vibrations is concerned.
The crux of the matter is that meditation is like a swiss army knife and you can use any of the tools to get what you want.
Final Thoughts
It is really crucial for us as humans to be aware of the subtler aspects of life.
Understanding what vibes are and how they work can be a great first step towards a deep understanding for yourself and for others.
Once you understand how to read vibes you can understand some people better than they can understand themselves.
Vibes speak louder than words, and you can see why we need to take conscious control and responsibility of our own vibes.
At the end of the day, if all of us are sincere about this, we can raise the level of communication in human consciousness.
